Lumiplan acquires the Italian company Ameli

Lumiplan acquires the Italian company Ameli, a specialist in display and security solutions for public transport in Europe.

The Lumiplan group has just acquired Ameli, the Italian leader in information and security solutions in the field of Public Transport. This acquisition allows the group to expand its commercial presence in Europe, to add safety solutions on board public transport vehicles to its product portfolio and to strengthen its technological and industrial base.

Founded in 1950 by Ugo Ameli, Ameli is based in Florence and has 25 employees. In 2016, the company achieved a turnover of more than 5 million euros. It equips many public transport networks in Italy, in particular Rome, Milan and Turin. It is also the supplier of many public transport networks in Europe, in particular in Holland, Switzerland, Greece and Slovenia.

This acquisition is part of the Lumiplan group’s international development strategy and positions it, through its business volume, as one of the leading European players in the market for embedded equipment for Public Transport. It also allows Lumiplan to offer a wide range of embedded products such as Affichage, MultiMedia, Video-protection and Retrovision as well as to increase its capacity for innovation on the market. The industrial synergies associated with the increase in production capacity will also enable the group to continue to improve the competitiveness of its products and the quality of the service provided to its customers.
