This acquisition allows the group to strengthen its presence in rail transport and to complete its skills as an integrator of complex and multimodal real-time data.
Created in 1999 in Rennes, SORIDIS has established itself as a specialist in the aggregation and dissemination of real-time information, notably by developing INFOGARE, SNCF’s reference passenger information system in Ile-de-France for its Transilien activity. SORIDIS’ solution drives more than 3500 displays in more than 350 stations, providing schedules to 2.5 million passengers per day. SORIDIS also designs and deploys tools to assist in the aggregation, exploitation and dissemination of data, particularly on behalf of the Kéolis group, the STIF (Syndicat des Transports de l’Ile de France) and Rennes Métropole.
With this acquisition, Lumiplan is strengthening its leadership in France in real-time multimodal information solutions and is positioning itself as a privileged partner for Metropolises and Regions to support them in the implementation of their Urban Transport Plans. “The development of local transport is a major trend in the world’s major cities,” says Henry Gaillard, CEO of the Lumiplan Group. In this context, real-time information is a priority to ensure passenger satisfaction. SORIDIS’ skills and experience, with its high-performance and recognised solutions, enable us to strengthen our position in this high-potential market in France and abroad. »
Lumiplan, a leader in signage and dynamic information solutions, has developed an innovative system for monitoring skier flows and real-time guidance.
The problems of saturation zones on the slopes cause potential safety and comfort problems for skiers on the one hand and maintenance problems and premature deterioration of the snow cover on the other hand for operators.
In response to this context, Lumiplan has created a system, called LEANSKI, that allows ski lift operators and slope services in smart resorts to enter a new era in the management of their ski area. System including in particular:
– Measurement of the passages at the entrance gates of the ski lifts
– Measurement of waiting times in the lift queues (per camera)
– Continuous and real-time measurement of skier flows on the slopes by special sensors (SKIFLUX)
– Real-time data processing by our Infoneige software
– Broadcasting messages on LED screens and displays located on the ski area to inform and guide skiers
– Dynamic and autonomous directional arrows
– Display of information in the mobile application and on the interactive track map of the station’s website (solutions published by Lumiplan)
– Export of statistical data allowing the improvement of resource management (Dianeige expertise)
This advanced monitoring and flow control allows ski area managers to trigger the display of messages to skiers, ensuring a better customer experience on the ski area.
The pilot stations – where this device is visible (April 2017) in the form of a “full-scale field test” – are Les Arcs (waiting time and dynamic arrows) and Val Thorens (flow and LED panels).
The Lumiplan group has just acquired Ameli, the Italian leader in information and security solutions in the field of Public Transport. This acquisition allows the group to expand its commercial presence in Europe, to add safety solutions on board public transport vehicles to its product portfolio and to strengthen its technological and industrial base.
Founded in 1950 by Ugo Ameli, Ameli is based in Florence and has 25 employees. In 2016, the company achieved a turnover of more than 5 million euros. It equips many public transport networks in Italy, in particular Rome, Milan and Turin. It is also the supplier of many public transport networks in Europe, in particular in Holland, Switzerland, Greece and Slovenia.
This acquisition is part of the Lumiplan group’s international development strategy and positions it, through its business volume, as one of the leading European players in the market for embedded equipment for Public Transport. It also allows Lumiplan to offer a wide range of embedded products such as Affichage, MultiMedia, Video-protection and Retrovision as well as to increase its capacity for innovation on the market. The industrial synergies associated with the increase in production capacity will also enable the group to continue to improve the competitiveness of its products and the quality of the service provided to its customers.
Following a call for tenders launched by the Central Purchasing Office for Public Transport (CATP), Lumiplan has just won the contracts to supply on-board visual and audio passenger information systems, as well as the supply of passenger information terminals on the ground for a minimum period of three years. On this occasion, Lumiplan’s Managing Director Henry Gaillard declared “The listing of our ranges in the CATP catalogue is a great satisfaction for Lumiplan and its teams. It is a mark of recognition and the result of a close collaboration with public transport stakeholders that we have been conducting for more than 20 years.”
Aiming for a new generation of multimedia solutions
CATP has chosen to reference visual and sound information systems (IVS) for PMR compliance. Lumiplan equipment can be interfaced with existing ticketing and EAS systems in vehicles. To complete this offer, CATP also offers 19″, 29″ and 38″ multimedia TFT screens. This new range of robust, stylish and modular Full HD displays is available in single-sided, double-sided and segmented versions. They allow you to display real-time information, passenger information such as route maps, maps and external content such as exchange centre timetables, Twitter feeds, weather, city news and tourist information.
A complete range with optimized power consumption
Lumiplan offers public purchasers a wide range of passenger information terminals for outdoor or indoor use; various power sources (230V, public or solar lighting), multiple display technologies (LCD, LED or TFT) and communication modes (GPRS, 3G/4G, TETRA). The Lumiplan range integrates all the constraints of maintainability, energy consumption and integration into existing network structures (mast, shelter, etc.) from the design stage. Finally, all our terminals are controlled by a flexible and secure software solution that interfaces with all the SAEs on the market.
The government organization GAPTE – Greater Accra Passenger Transport Executive, which deals with urban transport activities in the metropolitan area of Accra, called on Kapsch, an integrator of intelligent transport systems, to set up an information system within their new bus network. In order to design a high-performance network, Kapsch relies on Lumiplan’s Heurès scheduling solution.
GAPTE wishes to set up a Bus Rapid Transit network – high service level buses (HQPT) operating in dedicated lanes. A first line will be opened with 85 buses in circulation. The long-term objective is to set up 4 main lines and more than 250 buses that will serve all of Accra, Ghana’s most populous city.
Lumiplan’s Heurès scheduling solution will enable the metropolis of Accra to acquire an optimized transport network thanks to the graphic creation of lines and routes, the entry and analysis of journey times. The teams were trained on the Heurès tool in the spring of 2016.
In a high-growth city, described as an economic magnet in the region, the creation of an efficient transport offer is essential to facilitate traffic flow and ensure the movement of populations: “the minibuses called tro-tros, which are the most frequently used means of transport, are crowded. Infrastructure and equipment are not adequate. The implementation of the BRT network will provide a real response to the mobility needs of Accra’s inhabitants. ” explains Olivier Epailly, Head of the Heurès business.
Lumiplan allows Ghana to acquire an adapted tool to improve the quality of service of its transport network while optimizing its resources.
Heurès is the ideal solution to meet the needs of countries with major urban mobility challenges and strong budgetary constraints.
